Happy Sunday!
Some PFW takeaways via the good ol’ fashioned what I actually want to wear litmus test. If you’ll indulge me.
Saint Laurent Look 30
I am not usually a big tie person. (Are you?) I think it may actually be generational because a lot of women in my mom’s generation seem to really dig them. I’m not a big Saint Laurent person either, tbh.
I think men look hotter in a suit with the top shirt button open and the tie yanked off, and I think Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent has, in the past, felt quite same-y. But the last two seasons have been more enticing, particularly this one. His Spring Summer ‘25 suited ladies have made me consider, for the first time since playing dress-up as a kid, wearing an actual tie. Also, the beige suits! Kamala should feel vindicated.
Miu Miu Look 57
Similarly, I haven’t been drawn to an open-toed shoe or leg-warmer, or been foolhardy enough to keep a bathing suit on under my dress since the late ‘90s either.
Miuccia Prada is of course the only person with the power to make me throw aesthetic (and potentially sanitary) caution to the wind and imagine doing all three at once.

Loewe Look 34
New Year’s Eve makeup ideas, anyone?
Why do highbrow, high concept, possibly high when writing the press release collections feel so pretentious coming from other designers and somehow so right coming from Jonathan Anderson?

I don’t know. But on Friday I was kind of into it during the brief moment the rumour mill had Anderson going to Dior (unconfirmed, unverified, and source quite possibly unhinged.) Still, an idea…
Carven Look 33
This show living rent-free in my mind and in Madame Carven’s apartment on the Rond-Point des Champs where the legendary designer began showing her collections in 1945 and where Louise Trotter showed her collection for the house for the first time last weekend.
It should note that my grandmother was one of the Carven’s models in this very apartment beginning in 1946 and also that Louise Trotter is a friend.
These potentially bias-inducing facts do not, I don’t think, detract from the loveliness of this collection’s draping. For the most wearable take, this look. I need the gloves!!

Chanel Look 8
How do be ladylike but also a bad b*tch.
Hope Hedi or whoever ends up being handed the torch carries over a tad of this vibe. Not every look in this collection was a surefire hit but the interim studio team done good overall, I say.
More soon Monicuddlers! x
Omg the clipping! Magic. You can keep the Carven, but I will take the YSL suit (with you on the tie)
Your gran! ❤️
