Started writing this randomly as an exercise in self-reflection etc and definitely didn’t think I’d post it here, but then I thought hey, maybe one of these could be of use to you, Dear Reader…
Going from one to two children is way more of a jump than going from zero to one.
Different children require different parenting techniques (but there was no point in worrying about whether you’d be able love the second as much as the first HA.)
When someone gives you something valuable enough to be worthy of a secret hiding place, always write down the location of said hiding place in your phone notes.
Lip liner is an absolutely genius invention.
If your head is super itchy, don’t panic and assume you have lice. It might just be be the cheap shampoo your grabbed at the grocery store.
If you want to write regularly it has to be at a scheduled, blocked-off time every day. Preferably the same time of day. Still working on this, as you’ve probably gathered.
It’s great to debate, but don’t expect to feel satisfied after doing so on social media.
As far as I can gather (so far), in a marriage with two working parents, they key to mutual fulfilment is to be as ambitious for your partner’s career as you are for your own. (And to put your time/money where your mouth is once you come to this.) I’m definitely saying this to the men but guess what, I am also saying this to us ladies.
The other key is to value your partner’s mental zen as much as you value your own (if for no other reason, because theirs will help translate into yours).
Frozen (I) is a great work of feminist fiction.

Listen: A Year of Taylor Swift on “The Daily”
I had slightly gone off The Daily but was blown away by this episode on Taylor Swift. I’m not a big Swiftie but I love the way Taffy Brodesser-Akner describes the state of true fandom and our natural human connection to music.
Need: Laia Alen’s Bernatta bag (pictured above).
Think I’ve found the perfect party bag just in time for Xmas. Love the Dries-y texture and the fact that it adds a little festive fun to any look.
Follow: How about me on Threads? Finally available in Europe, and finally an alternative to Twitter(/X) which always tempted me because I love a word count challenge, then always put me off for numerous other reasons. Plus it lets you carry over your community. A huge plus, because… I love you!
Happy Holidays.
Love number 8
The 8 and the 9 🤯❤️❤️❤️❤️!
