So interesting, I think I need to pay attention and learn as much as possible about it. I think it can probably be a great help if you know how to use it, but won’t replace individuality!!
I think this so so spot on and mirrors my feelings; particularly with regards to writing which I enjoy. I have recently seen the switch to completely ChatGPT written blog posts (and Substacks) from ppl in this blogging world and it’s really disappointing to me! I know the proofreading feature is great, or even brainstorming beforehand to jumpstart writer’s block. But otherwise I just feel like personal voices are lost, everyone is an SEO slave, and it all feels regurgitated?! Thanks for writing this and bringing a lovely perspective 💙💙
I so feel this as I have been resisting AI. I need to learn it for work and it’s coming to a head where I can’t avoid it but ugh, I don’t want to play.
Ooooh interestingggg! And fascinating to hear about Sora and your experience fills me with dread and curiosity - this has been a big topic amongst my group of fellow freelance-ry creatives whatnots. I know that AI (particularly Sora) one day very soon will be able to do the less creative elements of my job, but I still hold out for the power of human experience and stories to win out (insert cheer!)… In whateverist world is whirling our way. (I am naive? Perhaps - but either way AI is here to stay so I need to adapt). My one big worry thought spiral on ai is the enviro impact. Was there any chat on this side things? Would v curious to hear from the experts.
Ayayayayay. Such an insightful piece. And I share your mixed feelings.

Thank you I’m so glad this spoke to you! And agree re proofreading, though I do long for a real flesh and blood human editor on here sometimes!

I know right. A mandatory tamagotchi is somehow much less appealing!
The fake boobs comparison is very apt!
